About 15 activists from several groups, including April 5
Action and Never Forget June 4 marched to the US
Consulate to protest the military actions against the
people of Yugoslavia. They pasted some pictures of the
victims of Albanian refugees killed by NATO missiles
onto an American Flag and dragged it along on the
ground while en route to the embassy. The Stars and
Stripes was burned to ashes at the end of the
demonstration amidst chants of "NATO, hands off
Yugoslavia!"

The demonstrators shouted, "Stop the killing!" "Stop the
air-strike!" "Down with NATO!" "NATO, hands off the
Balkans!" "US get out of the Balkans!" "Down with US
Imperialism" "Down with Milovecie!" "Self determination
by the Kosovo people!"

The spokesperson of the demonstration, Leung
Kwok-hung, read out a statement, denouncing the now
3 weeks long air raid. He said the ethnic question should
be settled by the people themselves, not by foreign
military actions. He further emphasized that the
demonstration in no way supports the Serbian
Government. The Kosovo people should have the right
to self-determination.

The demonstrators cut the American Flag to pieces
before setting it on fire. Then they put a banner
denouncing the US Imperialists on the gate of the
embassy. Nobody from the US Consulate came out to
receive the petition.
